Whiteware open compote dish was made by Knowles, Taylor & Knowles in East Liverpool, Ohio, in Columbiana County, between 1890-1910. This dish has a green transfer pattern on the rim and a red transfer pattern of the American House Hotel in the center. It is marked "K.T.& K. China."

Knowles, Taylor & Knowles was founded by Isaac Knowles and Isaac Harvey in 1854 in East Liverpool, Ohio. The partners produced Rockingham and yellow queensware. In 1870, Knowles brought son Homer Knowles and son-in-law John Taylor into the firm and produced whiteware, yellowware and ironstone pieces.
